• Josten's Ring Company will be here from 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. in the Guidance Conference Room on Wednesday, January 7, to clean and repair any rings sold by Josten's.
• Student Council Members: You are needed in Heritage Hall after school today. Our work will not take more than a half hour. Please stay and help out!

• Congratulations! the Varsity Boys Bowling Team won the South 7 Conference Tournament. A special congrats goes to 5th place medalist, Trent S.; 4th place medalist, Joey S.; and 2nd place medalist, Aaron P.
• Calendar Update! As of this date we have sold 1049 calendars. The Sophomore class has sold the most most so far - 228; Freshman - 200; Seniors - 182; and the Juniors - 122. The following homerooms have reached as least 50% of their homeroom goal: Lauber, Laws, Sebescak, Willett. Thank you to those who have sold calendars. Keep up the good work. Don't forget to take calendars home over Christmas break to sell.
• Saturday Scholar applicants: Six spots are still available. You must have your money turned in by Friday or invetions will be revoked.
• Schools for Schools would like to thank everyone for their support this semester. With your help we have raised $3,012. This money will go towards training teachers and buying supplies for Layibi Secondary Schools in Northern Uganda.
• Please don't forget to bring in your $5 for the Auction baskets to your Homeroom. Each homeroom with 100% participation all names in that room will be placed in a drawing for a WII system.
• If you have not ordered a yearbook yet, please note that the price goes up in January. Please order now!
• Boys JV and Varsity Basketball practice for today is cancelled. We will practice tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
• Seniors: The Elks National Foundation Scholarship is now available. You must provide work experiecne, community service hours, awards, leadership, and activities, write an essay, and provide a financial statement. The deadline is Friday, January 9, 2009. If you're interested, please stop by the Main Office for more information.
• Rotary Members: Just a reminder that any member who ordered citrus, it will be here this Friday, December 19 and must be picked up that day for delivery to your customers because of the holiday break.
• Student Council members: Decorating for the Christmas Ball is on Sunday, December 21 @ 1:00 p.m. Please help out. This will not take over two hours if we have a lot of good help
• Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors: DeSales University is sponsoring an essay contest to recognize excellence in writing that shares the distinctiveness of Catholic thought. Scholarships of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 to DeSales Univeristy in Pennsylvania will be awarded.

Anyone bringing a non-Althoff Catholic student as a guest must complete and turn in the Guest Permission form by December 17. Guest Permission forms can be picked up from the tray on Ms. Gansmann's office door or the counter in the Bookstore.

• Congratulations! The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball Team beat Mascoutah last night.
• Congratulations! The JV and Varsity Boys Bowling Teams won last night against Columbia. Malcom L. led the JV boys with a 252 game. Brandon T. shot a 280 game and had a 715 series for the Varsity team.
• Congratulations! The Varisty Scholar Bowl Team won their game against Alton last night. Congratulations, also, to the JV Scholar Bowl Team who won their game against Alton and Wesclin.
• A calendar form with checks was found in Mrs. Orlet's room. If you sold calendars and lost your form, please check with the Development Office.
• VISION 2009 update: We are currently at $950,000 in pledges. Please continue to encourage your families, parents, grandparents, and friends to complete their Letters of Intent and get them to Althoff Catholic by December 19. We want Althoff Catholic to be "cool" in 2009!
• Mr. Bouc has been contacted by Catholic Social Services and they have two children that are still in need of sponsors for Christmas presents. If you yourself, or you and some friends would be interested in helping to purchase presents for one of these two children, please see Mr. Bouc in Campus Ministry.

• Congratulations! The Varisty Boys Bowling Team had a victory last night against Wesclin. Brandon T. shot the team's high game of 279. The JV Boys and JV Girls Bowling Teams also won. Eric L. led the boys with a game of 218. Brittany W. helped clinch the girls win with her game of 145.
• Any NHS member who has not turned in all of their hours, needs to turn their sheets in to Ms. Schumacher in Room 114.

• Make sure to sign up for the First Annual CAAD Crusader Bowl Flag Football Tournament. Ten players to a team, must be co-ed. Every player gets a free rally towel. The 1st thru 3rd place teams will win front of the line lunch passes for a time to be designated later. Sign your team up today with Mrs. Black. Play will begin this Thursday after school.
• Crusader Cru: It is time to come out and support the Winter Sports Teams! Don't forget to wear your t-shirt and save $1 on admission.

• Area artist, old Althoff Catholic student, and SWIC graduate, B.J.Vogt created "A Human Geology" specifically for the Schmidt Art Center. This show opens tonight and the public is invited. For this installation, he overlaid images of brain slices onto the gallery floor plan to create the installation's layout. This detailed and time-consuming process required extremely precise measurements, light observations and anticipation of the visitors' movements. B.J. then stacked cardboard and foam shapes to create a cavernous topographic landscape that links earth systems with brain processes. "A Human Geology" is comprised of works that explore the concept that human evolution and structure of the human body are directly linked to processes inherent in geology, plate tectonics, and volcanology," says B.J. • The CAAD Club officers will meet Tuesday, September 30 @ 7:45 a.m. in Mrs. Black's room (107).
• Any Seniors who still need training to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion should be at Campus Ministry Tuesday, September 30 @ 7:45 a.m. Please do not be late. New Seniors may still complete an application to be a part of this training.
• Student Council meeting is on Tuesday, September 30 @ 7:40 a.m. in Room 111. This meeting is to finalize the plans for the Pep Rally.
• Crusader Cru: Please plan to attend the Girls Volleyball home game on Wednesday, October 1 - Althoff Catholic vs. West. We want a spirit-filled group!!
• There will be a Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, September 30 @ 7:50 a.m. in Heritage Hall. Any student interested in joining, please plan on attending.
• Students looking for a part time job, please stop by the College Placement Office.
• We are looking for interested participants for a 5K Walk/Run for Peter's Place on Saturday, October 4 at the O'Fallon Family Sportpark. Peter's Place supports young men that struggle with alcohol and drug abuse. The CAAD Club members will be working the event. Please see Mrs. Black or Mrs. Schaefer for entry forms if you would like to participate.
• If you need to order winter uniform shirts, please do so during lunch in the Bookstore. Payment is due at the time of order.
• There will be an important meeting of the Film Club on Wednesday, October 1 @ 8:45 a.m. in Room 214. Information on upcoming events will be provided, so all members should attend.
• The Lions Club could use your help! Any Student Ambassador interested in Candy Day for the Lions Club may sign up in the Development Office.
• Food tickets for Friday, October 3, are on sale during lunch hours in the Bookstore. Buying tickets before Friday will save you money rather than paying cash on Friday. Homerooms that are decorating your door, please have those completed before the start of school on Thursday, October 2. Also, any Homeroom that has not given your country name to Ms. Gansmann needs to do that asap.

• All French students need to purchase the French book "French is Fun" for their class. The book is now available in the Bookstore for $21.50.
• There will be no girls open gym tonight.
• There will be a Newspaper Staff meeting Friday, September 26 @ 7:50 a.m. in Room 315.
• The last day to order the French t-shirt is on Friday, September 26. Please bring in your order to Mrs. Orlet.
• Parent Night is tonight. Student Ambassadors need to report to the Development Office by 6:15 p.m.
• All athletes need to remember they are responsible for work they miss when they leave early for a game.
• Yearbook Staff: Please see Mrs. Toennies in the Library prior to leaving today.
