  • Leaf is heart shaped or cordate.

Bark Description
       
The bark is smooth and the aged bark becomes scaly with ridges.

Twigs are slender and zigzag and rather black in color with light lenticels.

Flattened, dry, brown pea pods when mature.  This photo shows young fruits that are green.
