Black Cherry
(Prunus serotina )

Tree Description

When mature, it is a medium sized tree that develops a long, straight, smooth trunk.  Leaves are 2-6 inches long and the tree grows to be about 50-60 feet.

• Leaf Venation is pinnate 
• Leaf Arrangement is whorled
• Leaf Division pinnately compound
• Leaf Attachment is petiolate
• Leaf Shape is broadly elliptic

Bark Description
       

Bark is Blackish-gray and when it is mature it peels in vertical splits.
