The tree is small but can reach 30 feet in height.

  • Leaf Attachment is petiolate
  • 7 pairs of leaflets and 1 at the top
  • Leaflets are almost opposite of each other

 Bark Description
       
The bark has a silver grayish color with flat ridge tops.


Twig and Bud Description

The twig is stout and has a reddish-browncolor and the buds are round.

Fruit Description

The fruit has a triangular capsule that is 1 to 2 inches long.  The fruit is found in clusters and contain three hard, black, circular seeds.
