  • Althoff Catholic is celebrating 46 years of Catholic Education in the Belleville Diocese – the mission of Althoff Catholic is to offer a quality education in a Catholic environment to the young men and women of our area.
  • 98% of Althoff Catholic High school graduates go on to further education.  45% of the class of 2009 received scholarships.
  • All students attending Althoff Catholic receive scholarship assistance – the true cost per year of education is over $7,700.
  • There is additional $70,000 set aside for financial assistance for students.
  • Althoff Catholic participates in the 1-8-1-8 Program sponsored by St. Louis University – students in this program can earn up to 18 college credits before graduation.  In addition, two science courses are AP approved.  These credits are honored at many colleges.
  • Edline is an online program available for students and parents for continuous grade checks.  Parents can check their child’s progress and keep in touch via email with their student’s teachers.
  • The 2009-2010 Althoff Catholic freshman class included students from 37 different area grade schools – 95% of Althoff Catholic students are involved in one or more extracurricular activity.  Studies prove that students who get involved do much better academically.
  • Althoff Catholic offers a variety of fine art opportunities, including a traveling Show Choir, a 20 member Liturgical Choir that has performed for many local schools and churches. Several band and choral students have represented Althoff Catholic at the Illinois Music Educator’s Association. In addition, art students annually exhibit their work at Southwestern Illinois College, the Kruger Pottery Show and Soulard Gallery.  Students have also exhibited award winning work at Art on the Square High School Exhibition and the annual Congressional Show.
  • Service opportunities such as the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Interact Rotary Club, and Student Ambassadors allow Althoff Catholic students to volunteer in many ways.  Students assisted the Lion’s Club with their Candy Drive, rang bells for the Salvation Army and organized food and toy drives.  They purchase, prepare and deliver food for the St. Vincent de Paul Mobile Kitchen three times a month.
  • In 2009, the Girls Volleyball Team were city champions with a record of 28-9.  The Girls Tennis Team was city and sectional champs with a record of 13-1 while the Girls Golf Team (24-1) qualified for sectionals with one member qualifying for State. The Boys Golf Team (20-3) won three tournaments with one member qualifying for State.  The Boys Soccer Team (11-9) was victorious over the first place area team and the Varsity Football Team (6-4) qualified for State playoffs.
  • Althoff Catholic has had a strong history of athletic accomplishments.  The Varsity Football Team has qualified 16 times for State winning 3 times.  In addition, the Boys Baseball Team has won State once, the Girls Soccer Team placed second in class AA in 2008 and the Girls Pom Pon Team has received 9 first place positions since 1990. The Girls Volleyball Team has had a winning history of second in State in 1999, third in 2001, 2003 and fourth in 2007 and 2008. Girls Basketball placed second in Class AA in 2005 and 2006 while Wrestling has had 4 individual State winners.
