Mathematics

The math faculty boasts many years of teaching experience and dedication to Catholic education while ongoing professional development enables these teachers to continually fine-tune the learning environment.  To prepare our students for the future the staff has developed a curriculum that intgrates various forms of technology coupled with traditional problem-solving strategies.

Althoff Catholic offers an 8th grade Algebra 1 Program to qualifying students in participating Catholic feeder schools.  Students from these schools who complete the Algebra 1 Program in 8th grade and take four years of math while in high school will have five math credits on their Althoff Catholic transcript at graduation.  Students who take algebra in 8th grade while attending a school that does not participate directly in Althoff Catholic's Algebra 1 Program may take our exam and, if he/she passes, the student will be registered for geometry and the algebra 1 requirement will be waived by Althoff Catholic.  Such students will have four math credits on their Althoff Catholic transcript at graduation.
