Applications Process
Althoff Catholic admits students of any religion, ethnicity, and national origin. However, there are restrictions on the acceptance of students with certain academic or behavioral deficiencies. Interested 8th grade students should apply using the following steps of the admissions process.
Any interested 6th through 8th grade student is encouraged to participate in the shadowing Spend-A-Day Program prior to the placement test.

Application Process & Timeline for incoming freshman applicants:
October:
Open House - Alhoff Catholic's Open House is intended to familiarize prospective students with the environment in which they will study. The format is designed as a curriculum fair in the auditorium of Heritage Hall and has guided tours of the academic building. During the tour there are exhibits and displays demonstrated by our students and faculty. Faculty, staff, club moderators, and coaches are available to answer questions.
December:
Placement Test - The incoming freshman placement test is offered at Althoff Catholic once a year on the first Saturday in December. The fee to take the test is $50. This test helps establish the courses to be taken freshman year. It also is required to determine the recipients of numerous scholarship awards.
January:
Transcript Requests - Parents should contact their child's grade school and request their 7th and 8th grade transcripts, standardized test results, and most recent physical be forwarded to Althoff Catholic.
Administration Evaluations - Principals and 8th grade teachers from Catholic grade schools meet with Althoff Catholic Administration to discuss placement test scores and course recommendations.
Registration Letter - A letter with detailed information is mailed to parents instructing them to call and set up an appointment for Incoming Freshman Registration which includes an interview.
February/March:
Incoming Freshman Registration - Registration if scheduled by appointment. Parents and students attend a scheduled interview and register for their courses.
Scholarship & Tuition Assistance - Information on select scholarships will be available at registration. Also availabe will be information on tuition assistance (TADS) and preliminary bus transportation information.
Health Physicals - A 9th grade physical is required by the State of Illinois along with immunization records updated. Physical Forms are available in the main office. Please schedule an appointment with your primary care physician to complete this requirement prior to the start of the new school year. This will fulfill the sports physical requirement.
April:
Financial Assistant Letter - Iformation will be sent regarding the additional types of financial assistance available. This will include information regarding our Summer Work Program, financial grants, and Assumption Alumni Scholarships. Students must be registered to be eligible to apply for financial aid and/or scholarships.
May:
Scholarship Awards - Parents and principals will be notified of the scholarship recipients. If possible, the recipients will be awarded during their 8th grade graduation ceremony.
June/July:
Opening School Letter - All students registered for the upcoming academic year will receive information regarding upcoming events. This includes: dates of book sales, freshman parent orientation, new student orientation, annual school calendar with important dates, dress code rules, transportation options, tuition rates and athletic information.
August:
Freshman Parent Orientation - An evening meeting will be held in Heritage Hall with administration, faculty, and directors of various departments. An overview of expectations will be discussed followed by a question and answer session.
Freshman Student Orientation - Prior to the first day of classes, freshman will attend a two-day orientation that will assist in acclimating the students to high school. Student Ambassadors will assist each student in learning their way around school and accomplishing tasks such as opening their lockers with their combinations. The second day will be a camaraderie building day meeting their fellow classmates and learning team building skills.
