The mission of the Art Club is to support and propagate the idea that art is fundamental to all societies through the ages. It exists as a reflection and expression of artists to and within society.
The Art Club is loosely aligned with a group of art and non art students at Althoff. We have no formal meetings nor do we have officers. Anyone can come by and hang out. Once in a while we do a fund-raiser if we need to. An example of this is the art raffle to purchase a scanner for the new Macintosh computer for the art department.
We have in the past painted murals in buildings throughout the community and made trips to the St. Louis Art Museum. We are open to a variety of ideas that students may propose that would further the educational aims of students involved in the arts. Most of what we partake in is taking advantage of open studios. This allows students to stop by and make art, talk about art, or experience art through contact with others who share similar interests.
Open studio dates
are posted on the chalk board outside room 308.
