Freshmen
Fr Ferd Cheri will meet with freshmen to review academic progress and to prepare for registration. We encourage freshmen to formulate a course plan not only for the current school year, but also for the junior and senior years as well. Because of the college admission requirements and prerequisites for many courses, it is necessary to design a course plan beyond the sophomore year. Fr. Ferd discusses with freshmen the extracurricular activities and the opportunities available in clubs and school organizations. Fr Ferd will meet with freshmen in large groups and explain a class planning worksheet designed to aid in the development of a 3-year course plan. If a student or parent would like to further discuss classes for the sophomore year, contact Fr Ferd.
Many times freshmen do not realize the impact of their freshman grades on the cumulative class rank. Freshmen should always strive to do their best in all their classes.
Sophomores
Sophomores will plan courses for their junior and senior years. It is important for students to discuss the proposed schedule of classes with their parents. Students may arrange an appointment with Mr. Lieb for further assistance.
Sophomores also have the opportunity to attend a series of Career Awareness Programs, in which speakers from a variety of career areas share their experiences. Sophomore students may sign up with Mr. Leib to attend these programs to learn about careers, working conditions, earnings, actual experiences and educational requirements for many fields.
Juniors
The juniors will be completing the registration for their senior year. During the summer, Mr. Rensing will review junior transcripts to be certain that each student will have the necessary credits for graduation. In addition, a credit check will be made to verify that the graduation requirements will be met in the areas of Religion, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Computer Skills, Health and Foreign Language. Juniors may contact Ms. Wuller for an appointment to discuss their class schedule, scholarship or college information.
